Peter Phillips’ video advert, which is reportedly being broadcast on Chinese television, has been shared online and shows the royal endorsing milk from Bright Dairies, a farm owned by the Chinese state.
Whilst Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have caused an uproar this year by revealing their plans to become financially independent from the royal family, many of Harry’s family members lower down the line of succession have already been doing so for years. Now, a Chinese milk advert starring Harry’s eldest cousin Peter Phillips gives an idea of what could be in store for the Sussexes.

42-year-old Peter has appeared in a Chinese advertising campaign for Bright Dairies milk. In the advert, Peter appears in a stately home – believed to be Wiltshire’s Longleat House – and drinks a glass of milk offered to him by a butler. After drinking, Peter, who is described in the ad as ‘a member of the British royal family’, beams and confirms ‘This is what I drink.’

There was a herd of Jersey cattle at Windsor and we were brought up on it. And it was always much fuller of flavour, much creamier, than other milks that we had growing up. That has something to do with the way the cows are bred.’More under this adMore under this ad
Who is Peter Phillips?
Born in 1977, Peter Phillips is the son of Princess Anne and the Queen’s eldest grandchild. He is the elder brother of Zara Tindall and has two daughters, Savannah and Isla Elizabeth. Although he was born fifth in line to the throne, Peter has never held a royal title and is currently 15th in the line of succession.
Since he doesn’t have an HRH title, Peter is free to earn his own money and has worked in sports management. However, he has also traded on the celebrity of his royal connections – in 2008 he and now-wife Autumn were reportedly paid £500,000 for giving a pre-wedding interview and photographs to Hello magazine.
