Princess Diana’s prediction about King Charles and Queen Camilla

As Queen Camilla approaches her 77th birthday - July 17 - she has been keeping herself busy with royal duties. According to former BBC Royal correspondent Jennie Bond, King Charles’ first wife, the late Princess Diana, had made a prediction about his and Camilla’s love for one another.

As per OK!, Jennie Bond claims that Princess Diana had told her that Camilla was ‘loyal’ and that His Majesty’s love for Camilla was ‘stronger than any marriage he might ever have made’.

I think Diana was absolutely right to tell me that Camilla was 'loyal' and that Charles' love for Camilla was stronger than any marriage he might ever have made.

Bond explains that Queen Camilla wants to ‘pull her weight’ in their relationship. As per Express, she said:

I think part of it is because she so much wants the man she loves to be proud of her, and to pull her weight in their partnership.

Bond goes on to add that the Queen Consort has come a long way from her debut in the Royal Family as the ‘marriage breaker’ and the ‘other woman’. Indeed, when Camilla and then-Prince Charles first made their relationship public, the couple received a lot of backlash, and the late Queen Elizabeth allegedly even tried to break them up.

Queen Camilla’s popularity has increased over the years

As mentioned above, Queen Camilla isn’t as unpopular as she once was. According to a YouGov poll, Queen Camilla is ranked as the 8th most popular Royal, just below Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh.

Bond also adds that it must be ‘gratifying’ for the Queen Consort to earn the public’s approval after such a rocky start. Bond explains that when Camilla first started her public duties, she was ‘very nervous’ but is now ‘assured, confident and comfortable’.

Moreover, as per Express, the public’s opinion of Queen Camilla has improved as she stepped up and supported His Majesty during his health issues. NBC's royal commentator Daisy McAndrew told the BBC back in April that the ‘public has really embraced Camilla’ and they have a ‘bigger respect for her’.

I do think she will have increased her popularity. [...] The fact that the public has really embraced Camilla, has a bigger respect for her and has been able to see the relationship that she has with Charles and how good it is.
