Princess Anne reveals her surprising opinion on King Charles' plans for monarchy in rare interview

King Charles was heir apparent for more than 70 years and was the longest-reigning Prince of Wales. As such, the UK could watch him grow as a person and member of the Royal Family. Since he was heir apparent for so long, the late Queen Elizabeth had plenty of time to prepare Charles for the day he would become King, which will be on May 6 as he will be officially crowned at Westminster Abbey.

Now that he is King, Charles has many plans for his family, including reportedly slimming down the Monarchy, which we have often heard about. This plan has been voiced for quite some time and it seems King Charles is set on it.

Princess Anne doesn’t think King Charles will change
Princess Anne sat down for an interview with CBC News, BBC’s Canadian partner. The Princess Royal said that her brother would ‘remain true’ and ‘committed’ to public service:

She also talked about the fact that King Charles has ‘been practising for a bit’ since he was heir apparent for more than 70 years:

Princess Anne isn’t sure about slimming down the Monarchy
Princess Anne admits that Charles becoming King has brought a ‘shift’ in the family and the rest are doing their best to support the new Monarch. As King, Charles is the ‘key’ figure and the others are the ‘support’:

During the interview, the Princess Royal was asked about her views on King Charles slimming down the Monarchy. According to her, the notion of slimming down the Monarchy has been around for a while ‘when there were a few more people around’.
She then goes on to say that she doesn’t think it’s a good idea and she isn’t sure what more she and other members of the family can do to help:
