Tom Quinn claims in his book Gilded Youth: An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family that Prince William and Kate fight behind closed doors just as much as a regular couple. According to Marie Claire magazine, Tom gets his information from interviewing palace staff and insiders.

The Royal author also claimed that Kate Middleton had to go through a 'shocking' protocol before getting married to Prince William.

Kate Middleton solves everything
Prince William and Kate Middleton often try to present them as relatable to other people. Kate even once said:
Like every other couple, we have days when we are really, really cross with each other, or days when we don’t talk to each other.
But from Quinn’s description, Kate is the one who always ends up solving the issue. Quinn wrote:
Kate is very much the calm one. William is the one who’s a bit hotheaded. We see an example of that in Harry’s book… But Kate is very level-headed.
