Prince William and Kate have been looking to move to Windsor in order to be closer to the Queen. The couple has finally found their new home.

The Cambridges have been house hunting for a few weeks now as they plan to move closer to the Queen by the end of the summer. The Royal pair has now reportedly found their new country home in Windsor.

Moving to Windsor

After weeks of house hunting, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have found their new home. According to The Independent, the pair will be moving into a home on the grounds of the Windsor estate with their three young children.

They plan to move once Prince George, 8 and Princess Charlotte, 7, finish this year’s school term at Thomas’s Battersea. It is believed that the children will then enrol in a school near Windsor.

A love for the country

According to The Sunday Times, Prince William and Kate will keep their home in Kensington Palace for their private and press office. Moreover, reports suggest that the couple will also keep their holiday home, Anmer Hall, up in Norfolk. A friend of Prince William’s said:

The friend also suggested that the couple would like to make Anmer Hall their ‘permanent base’ for ‘after the school years’.

They may move into Windsor Castle permanently

The Independent suggests that the Cambridgesmay eventually move into Windsor Castle once Prince Charles becomes King as he would spend more time at Buckingham Palace than Windsor.

A close aide told The Sunday Times:

There is a sense of the future accelerating towards him, which is tinged with profound sadness — though he would never say it publicly — because of the implication that his grandmother would no longer be around, the added pressures on his father and his family being under even more scrutiny.
