Earlier this year, King Charles decided to evict his son and daughter-in-law from Frogmore Cottage. As a result of this decision, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle no longer have a home in the UK.

This means that Prince Harry is very limited in the places he can stay when he visits his home country. The Duke of Sussex was recently in the UK for the WellChild Awards but was unable to stay at a royal residence for a particular reason.

Prince Harry was snubbed by King Charles
As mentioned above, Prince Harry was in the UK for the WellChild Awards, his stay was very brief as the day after, he was flying to Dusseldorf for his Invictus Games, where Meghan joined him, a few days later.
As reported by Daily Mail, Prince Harry had requested to stay at Windsor Castle, so he could visit his grandmother’s, Queen Elizabeth’s resting place, on the 1 year anniversary of her death. However, the Duke’s request was denied on the grounds that no properties were available on such short notice.

What are Prince Harry’s options for accommodation in the UK?
Even though Prince Harry was denied his request to stay at Windsor Castle, he can still ask to stay at a royal property. However, the Duke cannot just stop by, he has to put in a ‘formal request’ to see his father, as per Daily Mail.
As reported by The Telegraph, Prince Harry is set to visit the UK again in January 2024. The Duke of Sussex is allowed to stay at royal properties as long as he gives ‘suitable warning’ and that there are properties available.
