Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were reportedly extended an invitation to spend time with the royal family, but the couple denied the offer.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently in the UK and will be in the country for this week. Despite Prince Harry’s ongoing legal row with the home office over his security and protection, the Sussex couple decided to visit the country for the charities ‘close to their heart.’

Amidst this, royal sources have revealed that Prince Charles extended an invitation to Prince Harry and Meghan to stay with him ahead of their trip to the UK this week. However, the couple seemed to have declined the offer, confirms Mirror.

The offer comes despite the couple’s continued ‘painful’ jibes towards the Royal Family. Describing how Prince of Wales tried to bring his son back into the fold, a close friend confirmed:

He hasn’t wavered, despite the attacks, which seem to be coming with increased vigour.

The Prince of Wales reiterated his invitation for Harry and Meghan, and the whole family if they wished, to come and stay with him this summer while he is at his home on the Balmoral estate.

Had the Sussexes accepted the offer, the stay would have benefited everyone in the mix and certainly made Her Majesty, who is facing severe mobility issues, really happy. The source added:

He thought it might be a good opportunity for everyone to take stock and relax, but the invitation was declined.

Prince Harry has had security issues in the UK. Ever since he stepped down from the position of senior royal, he also lost his rights to taxpayer-funded police protection which makes him feel unsafe in his homeland. A palace insider concluded:
