Meghan’s estranged best friend

In the moments leading up to Prince Harry’s proposal in the Walled Garden of Kensington Palace in 2017, Meghan is witnessed video calling her best friend – Jessica Mulroney. Although, unlike the other close friends of the couple, Jessica is nowhere to be seen in the documentary.

Hello! Magazine confirms Jessica is a Canadian fashion stylist and marketing consultant who became best friends with the Duchess when she was filming Suits in Canada. Jessica was a stylist on the show and the pair bonded over their love for fashion, female empowerment, and fitness.

Just before Prince Harry proposed to Meghan, she called Jessica to share the news with her. Meghan said:

Oh my God Jess, it's happening. He told me not to peek.

Reportedly, Meghan cut ties with her stylist bestie after she was accused of having a ‘textbook white privilege’ and used Meghan’s position as her close friend to justify her stance. An unnamed insider has, however, alleged that the pair just ‘grew apart’ and there wasn’t any fallout between the friends. The insider added:

Queen Elizabeth II’s famous 21st birthday speech is believed to have been edited by the Sussex couple in a way that benefits their purpose. MailOnline reported the documentary edits the speech ‘to change the meaning of the statement entirely.’
