Since Prince George turned 10 in July 2023 all the media is talking about is what secondary school he will attend. Many have speculated that the heir will follow in his father’s footsteps and go to Eton but other schools have been mentioned. Among them, the Princess of Wales’ old school: Marlborough College, which will cost the couple £47,000 per year.

A former Marlborough teacher in the midst of scandal
This scandal isn’t recent. According to Express, Wiltshire police are investigating an incident which took place in the 1980s. According to the police a man in his eighties was arrested after a member of the public reported a ‘non-recent sexual assault’.
The man, whose identity remains secret, has since been bailed out while the investigation is ongoing.
The Sun reported Marlborough College’s response to the scandal. A spokesperson for the school assured the public that they ‘take any allegation of this nature extremely seriously’ no matter how far back they date.

On 20 February 2024, the frenzy around what school Prince George will attend continued. This time Mirror reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales had visited St Edward's School in Oxford.
According to the tabloid, St Edward’s School would require the royals to pay £46,980 per year. Though it is expensive, St Edward’s is worth the around the same as Eton. The school’s website explains that they welcome both boys and girls which has been reported to be important to the Waleses.
