Earlier this year, King Charles had reportedly wanted to evict Prince Andrew from his current home, Royal Lodge, which he still shares with his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson. The Duke of York was then allegedly handed the keys to Frogmore Cottage after King Charles had served an eviction notice to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Indeed, Princess Eugenie splits her time between Portugal - where her husband received a job opportunity - and the UK, where she allegedly stays at Frogmore Cottage. Princess Beatrice on the other hand reportedly stays at the cottage when she visits the Windsor estate or when she has royal duties.

The Crown Estate wants to rent out Frogmore Cottage

Express reports that the Crown Estate plans to rent out Frogmore Cottage to the public if they are unable to find a full-time resident within the Royal Family. This would mean that Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice would have to find alternative accommodations when they wish to visit the Windsor Estate.

If the Crown Estate does rent out Prince Harry and Meghan’s former home, they would earn around £360,000 per year.

A source told OK! Magazine:

The estate doesn't want to leave the property vacant and are keen to find a tenant.
Royal residences within the security cordon have been leased to people outside of the family before.
