Prince Andrew hasn’t been seen in public since Prince Philip’s memorial service as he was forced to step away from the public eye after settling his sexual abuse case with Virginia Giuffre. MPs are still calling for the disgraced Prince to lose his Dukedom of York.

A new bill
As reported by Mirror, the York Central MP is trying to forward the ‘Removal of Titles Bill’. This new Bill would make it easier for the monarch to remove titles as well as for a committee of Parliament to decide if a title should be removed.
More under this adMore under this adAs of now, there are no laws that allow titles to be removed easily despite the public calling for Prince Andrew to be stripped of his Duke of York title. The Queen has already stripped the disgraced Prince from many of his titles, including the use of HRH, but his Dukedom remains.

It has not yet been decided if the ‘Removal of Titles Bill’ will become a law, but a second reading of the Bill will take place on December 9, according to Mirror.
If the Bill were to go ahead and become law, it wouldn’t only apply to the Royal Family. Indeed it would also permit to remove peerages from people who have been convicted of criminal offences.
