Oprah Winfrey recently dropped a bombshell revelation on her own bombshell interview with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last year.

In 2021, the world was rocked over by the claims that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made on Oprah Winfrey’s interview. From racism to mental health issues, the couple spoke about a lot of things that led to their decision to quit the Firm. However, Oprah has now insisted that she had no idea about what the Sussex couple would say during the interview.

It was just a platform

In a recent chat with Gayle King on CBS, the 68-year-old Oprah admitted that the interview contents were as surprising as for the rest of the world, confirms Mirror. She said:

I was as surprised by the bombshell as everybody else.
I was doing an interview to offer them a platform to tell their story about why they left, and that was my number one intention was just clarity on 'why did you leave?’

And so some of the things that were revealed in that interview came as a surprise to me and those surprises are now referred to as 'bombshell'.

She also added:

But I didn't set out to do a 'bombshell' interview. I set out to do an interview, have a conversation that would allow them to tell their story.

Will there be a reconciliation between the brothers?

While speaking to Gayle King, Oprah dodged a clear answer to the big question – that is reconciliation of the brothers – and said she doesn’t get into people’s family matters. However, OK magazine reports that she hopes the family will reconcile. She said:

I think in all families — you know, my father passed recently, this summer — and when all families come together for a common ceremony, the ritual of burying your dead, there's an opportunity for peacemaking ... and hopefully, there will be that.
