Meghan Markle’s father and brother leave the US for the Philippines

Thomas Markle Sr., Meghan's estranged father, and her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr., have officially left their American roots behind for the blistering heat of Cebu in the Philippines. According to Mirror, the two are living in a £500-a-month flat.

Reportedly, Thomas—who never thought Meghan would turn on him—has made the move to South Asia in search of a more ‘positive life.’ He shared:

I’m not running away. I am going in search of a more positive life. Every day I see something about Meghan. I wish her no ill will. My dream is that one day I could bring my whole family together, like a ‘normal’ family.

The Daily Mail reveals he's now settled into a modest high-rise flat far removed from his previous life in Mexico, just a short drive away from Meghan's luxurious Californian mansion.

Cebu is known for its hot climate and humidity, and this move is understood to be challenging for Thomas, who has previously battled severe health issues, including two heart attacks and a stroke.

Many people in the area have seen him walking around with a stick, highlighting his struggles with mobility. Despite struggles, the father-son duo remain committed to caring for one another, attempting to find peace in a place described by Thomas Sr. as having 'kind and welcoming people.'

Thomas Markle Jr.’s upcoming explosive memoir

Thomas Markle Jr. has expanded his role ever since his move to their Filipino retreat. He has been working on an explosive tell-all book about his famous half-sister’s upbringing. Speaking candidly to the Mirror, Markle Jr. teased the forthcoming memoir and stated:

When my book is finished, ooh it'll be swooped up real quick cos it's getting there. I'm working on it. It's coming out.

It's gonna be good. I really want to maybe spin off the book, then when the book gets read, the documentary will follow. I'm not a greedy person, it's not about the money, it's about the principle.

While he states that his real motive behind the book is not money, he added:

Of course it would be nice to have a nice little cushion from selling a book, sure.

His narratives are likely to challenge some of Meghan's own descriptions of her childhood. Markle Jr. has previously labelled them as ‘malarkey.’
