Meghan Markle is a 'viable contender' for US President, according to political advisor

One of Donald Trump's closest political allies believes that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle'sNetflix documentary might be the beginning of the Duchess' political ambitions. However, a Royal expert believes Meghan is 'too sensitive' to run in the following US elections.

Top choice for the Democrats

There has been much speculation about theDuchess of Sussex's future career since retiring from Royal duties in 2020. Many believe that with her activism and strong character, Meghan would be well suited for the position of President of the United States.

The Democracy Institute, which conducted exclusive polling for Express, found that 64% of respondents believed the party should choose a female candidate for the 2024 elections. Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, came first in a list of potential runners, with 27%, beating the current Vice President Kamala Harris, who received 25%.

Even Valerie Biden Owens, President Biden's sister, told Good Morning Britain the Duchess of Sussex is 'welcome to come in and join the Democratic Party'. She also added:

She remains a viable contender if she chooses to go down that path.

Circumstances on Meghan's side

Jason Miller, GETTR boss and close ally of former President, Donald Trump, explained that the Democrats are allegedly 'terrified' that Joe Biden will be their 2024 candidate at 82. Why? He says, 'when you look at the Democrat's bench, they don't have much'.

The Trump supporter believes that the Duchess of Sussex could be a 'wildcard candidate' for the Democrats. He told Express:

I wouldn’t be surprised if Meghan Markle harboured political ambitions. […] I don’t think it is a coincidence that they have set up residence in California, one of the most liberal states in the entire USA where her brand [...] is greatly embraced.

He believes the US media coverage shows Meghan in a better light than the UK coverage and that a bid to become the President of the United States is 'not that far fetched'. Although he describes the idea as 'a scary thought'.

Not cut out for politics

Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield believes the Duchess is 'too sensitive to go into politics. He reasons that during her podcast, Meghan was still complaining about things said about her years ago. He said:

I don't think Meghan has thick enough skin to formally go into politics.

Although he believes the Duchess would bask with the title associated with the position, given her track record within the Royal Family, he thinks she isn't cut out for the job. He said:

Would she like the job title? Certainly. But she proved during her brief time in the Royal Family that she doesn't necessarily like the hard work or criticism that comes with a life of service.
