To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the broadcasting industry, King Charles III will make an appearance in an episode of The Repair Shop on BBC One. Each episode of The Repair Shop focuses on skilled artisans from all over the nation restoring sensitive family heirlooms for their owners. The majority of heirlooms are discovered via social media, and their owners don’t have to pay for the repairs.

Preserve the art
In the special episode, the King will meet the host of the show - Jay Blades – in Ayrshire in Scotland. And he’ll give Blades a tour of the Dumfries House – owned by the King's charity and it operates a programme that teaches age-old trades like wood carving – by the King.
The episode was filmed between autumn 2021 and March 2022, that is before Charles ascended to the throne. BBC confirms that the King will choose a piece of pottery made for Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee along with an 18th Century clock that needs restoration.
