Today, 5 July 2023, marks King Charles III’s second coronation. The first one, which happened in London in May 2023, was a magical ceremony holding a lot of emotions.

Indeed, King Charles III succeeds his beloved mother Queen Elizabteh II, the longest reigning monarch.

The first coronation was watched by millions of people around the world and was a scrutinized event, especially because of all the drama the Royal Family has been through in the past years. The ceremony was also the official moment when Prince Charles became King Charles III as he received anointment.

So why is he getting another coronation?

According to Time Out, this coronation is ‘aimed to symbolize the bond between the royals and the Scottish people.’ The ceremony is also taking place during ‘Royal Week’ which is the week dedicated to ‘the reigning monarch' as he 'travels to the country to celebrate its culture and communities.
