King Charles' former butler joins Big Brother
On October 6, 2024, viewers tuned onto Big Brother to meet the sixteen contestants that will probably make waves in the next few weeks. Among these contestants, one man in particular tickled their curiosity, Nathan King. On ITV, he explained why he joined the show:

The 24-year-old pork salesman from Dumfries, Scotland, used to live a very different life, full of extraordinary experiences. Indeed, he explained having worked as King Charles' butler a few years ago. In 2017, when he was only seventeen, Nathan got the opportunity to work as a butler at the Dumfries House estate in Ayrshire. During his time at the King's Scottish home, Nathan looked after the 18th-century property and its furniture, as well as serving the royal couple, who were not reigning yet. When he was still working there, he told the Daily Record:

It is yet to be seen if he will give viewers any insight into what it's like to work for the Royal Family, or even better, spill royal household secrets. That is a promise that he has not yet made.

Indeed, during his interview, Nathan King talked about what he feels he will bring to the show, and he did not mention anything about the Royal Family. Moreover, viewers were not really happy with his answer. He said:
I'm enthusiastic and fun. I will bring a lot of opinions. I like to have a spirited debate. I’m quite a strong character. If I think something’s wrong, I’ll call it out as being wrong - I’m not afraid to do that.More under this adMore under this ad
Nathan's political views were also a cause for comments during his interview. Among other things, he notably said he admired Nigel Farage, and that he was a 'right leaning voter'.
An Internet user wrote on X (formerly Twitter), comparing the contestant with Paul Burrell, Princess Diana's former butler, who also spilled the tea on the show in previous series:
