Princess Kate opened Children in Need
Princess Kate appeared at the beginning of the telethon in a pre-recorded video revealing that she was ‘delighted’ that Children in Need asked her to open this year’s show.
Princess Kate has always been an advocate for young children, she has even launched her own charity towards early childhood development. When Princess Kate launched her foundation earlier this year she received immense backlash.

Children in Need viewers took to social media to express their disdain that a member of the Royal Family was talking about disadvantaged families. Some asked whether the Princess of Wales was going to announce a cut in royal funding:
