While the bookmakers were betting for months on the names Andrew, Arthur, James, Philip, it was Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor in the end that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry chose for their little boy. It’s a surprising and very modern choice. This name, a shortened version of Archibald, is of German origin and means “brave, daring and sincere,” as BFMTV reports.

In addition, the baby boy’s middle name, Harrison, is very popular in the United States and means “the son of Harry”. Let’s not forget that this choice was approved beforehand by the Queen, who seems to be in favour of this wave of modernity in the Royal Family.

According to the newspaper The Sun, Prince George had already revealed his cousin’s name by mistake four months ago. In fact, when he was walking in the forest when his grandmother Carole Middleton, the boy met a passerby with a dog. Prince George then started to stroke the dog.
