The two met in 1999 when Penny, then a photography student, was dared by her friends to ask for his autograph at a concert. He called her six months later, and the rest is history. The couple, who have an age gap of 26 years, married in June 2007 and have two sons together, Alastair and Aiden. Despite being happy in their marriage, recent rumours suggested that the couple were at a ‘stalemate.’

Rumours surrounding the marriage of Rod and Penny sparked significant media attention when the Daily Mail suggested that the couple was having a difficult time in their marriage. Rod, 79, had a 13-year Las Vegas residency that ended this year, but he extended it to 2025.
Reportedly, the couple were supposed to move back to Britain and sell their LA house after the end of his residency. Rumours suggested that Penny was not on board with his extension and staying in LA, while Rod refused to leave LA. An unnamed source told the publication:

Rod Stewart debunks rumours about difficulty in his marriage
In response to these allegations, Rod Stewart took to social media to clarify the situation. He emphatically stated that there is no rift between him and Penny and that they remain deeply in love after 27 years together, reports The Express.
He took to his Instagram and shared a statement that read:

Stewart explained that while they had considered selling their LA property, they ultimately decided against it after spending a wonderful summer there with family and friends. He also highlighted that two of his children still live in the LA home, making it a place of continued importance to their family.
