Love is Blind: Danielle Ruhl recounts the events leading to her divorce from Nick Thompson

Danielle Ruhl, the Love is Blind reality star, has accused her ex-husband, Nick Thomson of 'blaming' everything on her in their relationship.

The couple immediately entangled in each other’s love web when they appeared on the Netflix hit reality show, becoming the first couple to get engaged that season. The couple did not delay in their newly found adventure; they immediately tied the knot on June 8, 2021, in Chicago.

According to a publication by People, the couple tried to make the relationship work, but no amount of counseling could salvagethe already broken relationship. Nick in a earlier interview said,

We're in couples counselling and we have been now, for almost the entire time since we've finished [the show].

What Danielle has to say

Ruhl told E News that Nick never took responsibility for any of the problems that arose during their relationship. She stated,

I wanted to make sure that it was noted that it takes two, but unfortunately, with every interview, he is putting all of the blame on me and this isn’t new. This was something he did the entire relationship.

After the relationship hit rock bottom and they couldn't mend the broken pieces any longer, the couple filed for divorce in August 2021. They have since discussed their various relationship experiences on numerous occasions, with Ruhl most recently opening up about the divorce in a new interview.

Nick has been hitting out at his ex-partner, insinuating that she was an impediment to the growth of their relationship. Thompson, in an interview with US Weekly a few weeks ago, indicated that he wasn’t getting the partnership he anticipated from the relationship, which prompted the split. According to him, he was stuck in a stagnant relationship and didn’t deem it right to stay any longer in that partnership.

He said he wasn't 'feeling like I was getting the partnership I needed to be successful and to move forward with the relationship'. He added:

I think it’s unfortunate that you have to disparage or stay stuck in this place.

The couple's history

Ruhl and Thompson met on season two of the hit Netflix show, which was filmed in spring 2021 and aired in early 2022. There is no doubt that the couple fell in love instantly, but is that enough to sustain a lifelong relationship?

According to reports, Daniellesaid she felt on top of the world and was flattered by Nick's proposal. It took her no time at all to agree to marry her prince charming. People reported that Ruhl asked the cameras after she accepted the proposal from Nick:
