Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas’ net worth

Shirley has come a long way in her career as she an established name in the dance industry - especially ballroom dancing and The Queen of Latin. Born in Wallasey, she started dancing at the early age of 7 and the rest is history.

According to The Sun, Shirley won Professional Latin at Blackpool Dance Festival in 1983 and stopped entering competitions in 1996.

She then took on the advanced career path and became a dance coach and judge for ballroom and Latin American dance competitions. Seeing her career progression and growth, Shirley is estimated to be worth more than £4 million.

At 15, Shirley partnered with British Ballroom Champion Nigel Tiffany and then later moved on to Sammy Stopford. They even had a short-lived romance before Shirley met Corky Ballas. Shirley and Corky then went on to become big names in the dance industry and won many competitions together.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Shirley Ballas’ salary

Before Strictly, Shirley was a judge on the American version of Dancing With The Stars. However, she has been a Strictly staple since 2017 when she replaced Len Goodman. When she joined the show, she was paid £180,000 by the BBC for that series - which was £70,000 short of the amount given to her predecessor.

In the last 6 years, her salary has gone up to up to £500,000 per series. As the head judge, Shirley has the power to give the casting vote in dance-offs. The star has many other sources of income for her other projects and also from teaching at a dance school in Streatham, South London. She also makes money from panto.

Metro.co.uk reported that all the Strictly judges have asked for an additional 11% on top of their paychecks because of rising inflation. A source revealed:
