The rescue show is in pre-production stage as ITV bosses attempt to keep his legacy alive. The most recent season of the show was filmed before Paul O'Grady passed away and aired posthumously, which made the series an extremely emotional rollercoaster for fans.

Paul O’Grady’s For The Love of Dogs to be remade
According to The Sun, show bosses are considering casting dog lovers Ricky Gervais, Amanda Holden or Martin Clunes as the new presenters. It is still 'too soon' for the bosses to introduce a new presenter but there are talks of starting it next year.

It is understood that Amanda Holden is a front-runner for the new series. The BGT judge was a pal of the late entertainer and is also an ambassador for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home where the show is based.
