Love Island 2019 star Molly-Mae Hague has told The Sun that social media posts made by breeder Tiffany Puppies about her late puppy Mr Chai ‘are being dealt with by [her] lawyer’. The posts, which have since been deleted, reportedly. suggested that Molly-Mae was to blame for Mr Chai’s tragic death in May

In a statement to The Sun, Molly-Mae said:

I have been made aware of a number of social media posts relating to Mr Chai today. I cannot comment in detail on these posts as they are being dealt with by my lawyer - but it is fair to say that if they are intended to suggest wrongdoing on my part in relation to Mr. Chair's death, they are entirely false.

Molly-Mae continued:

At the appropriate time I will comment further as necessary but for now I am grateful these posts have been removed.’ Meanwhile, an unnamed source reportedly told The Sun that Molly-Mae was offered a replacement puppy when she told the breeder that Mr Chai had died.

‘Replacement puppy’

Whilst the source said that Molly wanted to grieve and move on a statement from a rep for Tiffany Puppies and its owner Elena Katerova confirmed:

They refused to comment further.

Although the main offending posts appear to have been deleted, comments still visible on Tiffany Puppies’ Instagram page show the business suggesting that ‘misinformation… has been peddled’ regarding Mr. Chai and that the breeder has been denied access to a full medical report for the late puppy.

What happened to Mr Chai?

Mr Chai, Molly-Mae and boyfriend Tommy’s Pomeranian puppy, died just six days after he was imported from Russia to the UK. Two days after the couple received the pup, his health deteriorated and they took him to the vet’s, where Mr Chai had a seizure and died.

An autopsy the couple shared with their fans revealed that Mr Chai’s skull wasn’t fully developed and he had no white blood cells, leaving him incredibly vulnerable to infection.
