Melania Trump’s latest renegotiation of her prenup
In September 2023, Page Six revealed that Melania ‘quietly’ renegotiated her prenuptial agreement in advance of Trump potentially serving a second term in the White House. According to insiders, the renegotiation aimed to ensure financial security for Melania and their 17-year-old son, Barron, in light of Trump’s costly legal battles. The source said:

Donald has faced significant financial strains, including a $250 million civil fraud case and a $5 million defamation payout to E. Jean Carroll. Another source added:
I know that she wanted it to provide her with more money, and also — from what I understand — there’s a specific amount at minimum that Barron is supposed to obtain.More under this adMore under this ad
This agreement was necessary because of the current legal battles … [Donald] has suffered.
Reports suggest that Melania’s move was not motivated by any desire to end her marriage but rather by a strategic foresight to secure her position and that of her son.

At the time, Melania delayed moving into the White House under the pretext of ensuring a smooth transition for Barron’s schooling in New York.
However, The Guardian reported in 2020 that she allegedly used the delay as leverage to amend the terms of her prenup. The information came from a book by the Washington Post reporter Mary Jordan.
