Melania—who is rumoured to not be a full-time First Lady this time—provided rare insights into her personal life and thoughts as she prepares to re-enter the public eye. Beyond discussing her role as First Lady, she also touched on lighter topics, from her husband’s viral dance moves to her own holiday merchandise.

Melania Trump calls husband’s win ‘incredible’ and reflects on second time white house journey

Incoming first lady Melania Trump expressed joy over her husband's victory and labelled Trump’s win ‘incredible.’ Talking about the win and her transition back into the White House, she said:

It's incredible. And, we are very, very busy…I'm establishing my transition team. And also, working on my office, putting my office together, and also, you know, organizing the residence and packing.

She explained how things are different for the Trump family this time as they already know what they’re getting into, unlike in Trump’s first term in 2017.

Elsewhere she also talked about the president-elect’s infamous dance moves. She noted that people across the country have been copying the awkward Trump dance moves and said:

This is a very special and unique dance…a lot of people are copying it and everybody [is having] fun with it.

On being asked if she dances like this too or if she has ever tried the Trump dance as Trump’s wife she laughed and said ‘No.’

Melania Trump on Barron Trump: ‘He knows his generation’

Melania also talked about her 18-year-old son Barron who helped his father get on popular Gen-Z podcasts. These podcasts helped him reach a voting bloc that was instrumental in his victory. Praising her son, she said:

He's a grown young man. I'm very proud of him – about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people. He knows his generation.
Nowadays the younger generation, they don't sit in front of the TV anymore. They are all on the tablets, they're on the phones and all of these podcasts and streamers…He was very vocal, and he gave advice to his father. And it was incredible how he brought in success, because he knew exactly who his father needed to contact and to talk to.

As the news channel played two different clips of Barron, one from when he was four years old and one recent clip, Melania also expressed ‘shock’ at how quickly he has grown up. Sharing that the clips may be years apart but in her head, she feels it was only months ago that Barron was a little boy and now he’s a ‘grown young man.’

She also advised other moms to spend more time with their kids when they’re young and be there for them as their ‘guides.’
