Taking to their official Twitter account, BBC Radio Live announced the following:

Following the official announcement that Whitmore would be quitting the show, BBC Radio 5 Live controller, Heidi Dawson, confirmed the news on her end as well, saying:

What will Whitmore be doing next?
The Irish TV presenter has explained that she is interested in seeing where Love Island can take her next as it has really catapulted her to new heights. A source close to Whitmore said:
