Khloé Kardashian revealed having not only experienced most of the coronavirus' common symptoms, but also having dealt with this very unusual side effect.

The second tallest of the Kardashian-Jenner clan has revealed she suffered from hair loss after being exposed to the coronavirus back in March 2020.

Khloé's struggle with COVID-19

During a Twitter Space chat, the 37-year-old reality TV star opened up about her experience dealing with the symptoms that came about while infected with COVID-19. She shared having had, to a certain degree, all typical symptoms of the virus minus losing her senses of taste and smell.

However, she also said that amid the coughing, fever and headaches she also suffered from hair loss as a result of contracting the virus:

My hair really fell out with Covid. So after, it was really a struggle for a minute.

Kardashian has shared before having dealt with migraines her whole life but that the headaches she had as a result of COVID were next level. She said:

I suffer from migraines, but this was the craziest headache. I wouldn't say it was a migraine. The coughing, my chest would burn when I would cough.

And she's not the only celebrity who's dealt with this unusual COVID symptom. Charmed actress, Alyssa Milano, also experienced hair loss after getting COVID. In a video she shared on social media, the actress can be seen combing through her hair, only to reveal clumps of hair falling out with each stroke. She can be heard saying:

One brushing, this is my hair loss from Covid-19. Wear a damn mask!

Can COVID really cause hair loss?

Dr Tanya Bleiker, clinical vice president of the British Association of Dermatologists, explained that though COVID could technically be the cause of hair loss there might very well be other explanations:

A form of hair loss called telogen effluvium can result in temporary hair loss as a result of a number of triggers including fever and severe illness, which may explain some cases of hair loss reported with Covid-19 infection.
