Katie Price’s family are concerned for her wellbeing after alleged drink-drug driving accident

Former glamour modelKatie Price is reported to have been taken to hospital after an alleged ‘drink-drug’ car accident near her home in Sussex on Tuesday.

Price, who was arrested for alleged drink-driving and may potentially face jail time, had acknowledged on Good Morning Britain just one day before the accident that she was currently under a two-year driving ban that was set to lift later this year.

A Sussex police spokeswoman confirmed: ‘Police responded to reports of a single-vehicle collision on the B2135 near Partridge Green around 6.20am on Tuesday (September 28).’

A woman, 43, was arrested on suspicion of driving while above the legal limit for alcohol and drugs, and has been taken to hospital to be checked over. The road was blocked temporarily while recovery of the vehicle was arranged.

A witness explained to The Sun: 'Katie rolled her car and was in a bad way when police arrived. She's in hospital now and everyone is desperately worried about her and why she was driving.'

Price’s family reveal their ‘worst fears nearly came true’

Responding to the incident, Katie Price’s family posted to the 43-year-old’s Instagram that they are ‘concerned about Kate’s wellbeing and overall mental health.’

Today our worst fears nearly came true. As a family we have been and will continue to help Kate get the help she needs. We hope that she will realise that she cannot battle her issues alone.

‘We would kindly ask that the media and wider public give Kate the time and space she needs to seek the necessary treatment, so that she can hopefully return to the Kate we know and love as a mother, daughter and sister.’

Fiance Carl Woods speaks in support of Katie

Katie’s fiance, Carl Woods, also posted about the recent events, explaining that he would continue to stay by her side during her period of struggle.

The 32-year-old wrote: ‘Relationships are tested. People test each other - but when you love someone like I love Katie. You enjoy the highs and good times together.’

Katie is a rough diamond. She has her imperfections however they make perfect to me. She just needs that extra help to be polished. The sunlight will shine through her once again and the sparkles that she brings to everyone will return.

‘I love you Katie 100%. My Dolly, always here, always will be.’

Carl’s kind words come not long after the car salesman had to repeatedly defend himself online against trolls who believed he was responsible for Katie’s alleged assault in August. After a weeks-long social media absence, the ex Love-Islander explained he had been having the 'roughest month of his life' and would never do anything to hurt Katie. Price then backed up her beau in the comments, explaining that Carl had wasn’t involved in the alleged assault.
