JLS have confirmed that they are getting back together not only for a reunion tour but also to make new music.

Long before the days of One Direction, JLS were the OG X Factor boyband. And after almost a decade apart, they’re finally getting back together for not just a reunion tour but also an album of brand new music, with an album and a couple of singles set to be released in the coming year.

After coming second on series 5 of The X Factor back in 2008, JLS went on to release five albums and six UK number one singles including Everybody In Love, Beat Again and Take A Chance On Me. They split in late 2013 following their third tour as they each went on to pursue individual projects.

JLS reunion tour

They were originally scheduled to reunite for a tour last year but the coronavirus pandemic got in the way. The reunion tour has now been rescheduled to start in October and will see the group play venues across the UK including the Cardiff Motorpoint Arena and London’s O2. They’ll also put on a free matinee performance in Birmingham for NHS workers.

Marvin Humes told The Sun:

Nobody could have predicted the last 12 months, but the tour will go ahead, and we’ve been working hard behind the scenes. At first we said this was going to be a reunion tour for fun, but this has given us time to pull things together and we’ve been writing and recording. We’re very excited.

The boys are even hoping to collaborate with Ed Sheeran as part of their comeback. Meanwhile Oritsé Williams said:

Whatever this next chapter for us brings, JLS chapter two is very exciting. We get to be musicians and experiment in the studio and figure out what our sound is, because we don’t know what the JLS sound is in 2021.
