Tom Felton reportedly earned £14 million for only 31 minutes of screen time in the Harry Potter films.

The 35-year-old British actor played Harry Potter's school rival, Draco Malfoy, and appeared in all eight films in the award-winning fictional series.

However, according to IMDB's screen time breakdown, Tom's total screen time across the franchise was 31 minutes and 45 seconds which is far less screen time than the series' three leads, Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Emma Watson (Hermione Granger), and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley).

Daniel received 539 minutes of screen time, Emma received 205 minutes, and Rupert received 211 minutes. Ralph Fiennes, who played series antagonist Lord Voldemort, had 37 minutes and 15 seconds, according toMailOnline.

Tom's lavish lifestyle

As a young man, Tom apparently saw no reason to invest his gains profitably. He reportedly resorted to reckless spending of his money.

Felton, who earned $451,613 per minute of screen time, seemed to have a penchant for fine clothes and cars, so his money was primarily spent on those items, which landed him in financial trouble.

According to The Mirror, he told Express that he did not listen to his mother's advice to cut back on his extravagant lifestyle. He said,

I bought a lot of rubbish things that kids buy: skateboards and clothes and typical teenage stuff.

And, as soon as I could, I wasted a lot of money on cars - BMWs mostly - for myself and my family.
