Hailey Bieber used to be obsessed with Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's relationship

Hailey Bieber and Justin Bieber have been married since 2018. Shortly before, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez broke up. Justin was famously in an on-again-off-again relationship with Gomez for several years. And, his now-wife Hailey once rooted for the ex-couple.

Hailey says Jelena are 'the perfect relationship'

It’s no secret that Hailey had a crush on Bieber since she was a teen. She first met him in 2009 when she was 12 years old. The next year, Bieber started dating Gomez. Hailey began tweeting her admiration for the couple known as'Jelena', writing in 2011, as reported by Us Weekly:

I don't care what anyone says but Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez together is the definition of a teenage dream! #word

In 2012, she tweeted, as quoted by Just Jared:

She is beyond flawless and he's ya know he's Bieber. They are the perfect relationship... forever alone

The same year, she wrote:

I gotta say I was really looking forward to seeing what color coordination Jelena was gonna do for this year's VF party.. #sigh #ohwell

In January 2016, when Justin and Gomezwere dating other people, Hailey and Justin shared a New Year's kiss, as reported by Harper's Bazaar. Justin and Gomez appeared to be back together in 2017, however the following year they broke up for good.Not long after, Hailey and Justin began dating, sparking rumours that Justin may have cheated on Gomez with Hailey.

Hailey addresses cheating rumours

Hailey cleared the air yesterday, Wednesday 28 September, when the new episode of the podcast Call Your Daddy was released. When asked by host Alex Cooper is she was 'ever with Justin at the same time romantically as [Gomez],' Bieber responded 'no'. She added:

It’s not my character to mess with someone’s relationship. I’m not interested in doing that and I never was.

Hailey has been called out for the timing of the interview, with Gomez sharing a trailer for her new documentary My Mind and Me only last week. Fans are accusing Hailey of damage control.

Gomez' documentary will be released on 4 November 2022.
