Either way, the dramatic recoupling speeches that often become the highlight of the show and even season, at times, are in fact rehearsed, claims Shaughna Phillips.

It’s a show after all
According to The Mirror, Shaughna went on to Should I Delete That podcast and revealed the big secret behind the recoupling speeches. Revealing that the Islanders practise their recoupling speeches with the producers before filming, she confirmed:

So like during dinner time you kind of talk through it. It’s really produced. They kind of ask you to go for chats and certain things. It’s a TV show, so I get it.More under this adMore under this ad
…But when you’re doing, like, the ‘I would like to couple up with this person because…’ you do that in three sections. So, you say that, and then you have a big pause, then you say the next bit, pause.
On being asked if the recoupling scenes take time to shoot, she revealed:

Fixed results
Shaughna Phillips starred in the 2020 winter series of Love Island. One of the most famous bits of her journey in the villa is being ditched by Callum Jones for model Molly Smith during Casa Amor. During her podcast, she also claimed that her heart rate monitor results were fixed to suit the storyline of the show.
