Ed Sheeran and Wife Cherry Seaborn Are Expecting Their First Child

Singer, Ed Sheeran and his wife Cherry Seaborn have announced that they are expecting their first child...and they're expecting it very soon!

The hitmaker and his 28-year-old wife are 'over the moon' about welcoming their first child this summer after keeping the pregnancy a secret during lockdown. A source close to the couple told the Sun that Cherry is already in her final stage of pregnancy and will be having their baby very soon.

The source dished that the couple had spent most of lockdown in their Suffolk home and are 'overjoyed' to be having a baby:

Ed and Cherry are over the moon. They’re very excited, but have kept things very low key.

The source continued:

Lockdown was a perfect excuse not to be seen out and about too much, but things are getting closer and the excitement has been building so they have started telling friends and family.

So, in the next few weeks or even days there might be a new little ginger member added to the Sheeran family:

They’re just making the last of the preparations at home, and the baby is expected later this summer. It’s a really happy time and their families are all totally delighted for them and cannot wait to meet the new arrival.

Last night Cherry shared the news with some of her friends and family online.

The news comes after Christmas Eve last year when Sheeran announced he would be taking a break from the music industry to focus on himself and take a breather. The 'Galway Girl' singer announced in an Instagram post:

Hello all. Gonna go on another break again. The Divide era and tour changed my life in so many ways, but now it’s all over it’s time to go out and see some more of the world. I’ve been a bit non-stop since 2017 so I’m just gonna take a breather to travel, write and read. I'll be off all social media until it's time to come back.

The celebrity's manager Stuart Camp even hinted after the announcement that Ed might end up starting a family. He stated:

He won’t sit still for long, he’s not the holiday sort. But things may change, he could have a young family relatively soon.

Looks like Stuart was onto something!
