Indeed, in the interview she reveals that she finds it increasingly hard to see on set. But this isn't all. She also talks about her issues with reading, meaning that she can no longer read scripts.

Judi Dench's health struggles
Dame Judi Dench's issue regarding her eyesight was brought to life in 2012 when she was diagnosed with 'age-related macular degeneration.' In her interview with The Mirror she reveals that the diagnosis came as 'terrible shock to the system.'

However, the actress is more resilient than most and she assures her fans that she will not be retiring. But that instead she will 'get on.'

What is 'macular degeneration'?
Dame Judi Dench diagnosis sheds light on this condition which affects people over 50 and 60. According to the NHS, the condition is 'common' and comes with age. It impacts the 'middle part of your vision' but 'doesn't cause total blindness.'
