He’s a man of many talents but it’s fair to say that Curtis Pritchard won’t be launching a new career in stand-up comedy anytime soon. He was blasted for his stand-up routine on Channel 4’s Stand Up & Deliver for Stand Up To Cancer as many viewers branded his jokes about his time on Love Island ‘offensive.’

Curtis Pritchard apology
Although Curtis previously defended his jokes as ‘edgy,’ he has now apologised for them. Speaking on his podcast AJ Vs Curtis, he said:

He continued:
Some of the jokes, they were completely off track and went too far and I didn’t realise that at the time but I realise it now and I just want to apologise to everybody and anybody that I have offended. It was never intentional at all, it really wasn’t. It was a great show to be a part of and I was very fortunate to be able to take part but I just want to apologise and say I am sorry for the jokes.More under this adMore under this ad
Why were Curtis’ jokes offensive?
Much of Curtis’ comedy routine focused on his time in the Love Island villa and many of his jokes were quite explicit. Whilst most were merely cringeworthy, many viewers felt that some of the jokes had a sexist undercurrent, such as one joke in which he compared the Love Island girls to second-hand cars.
Another of his most offending jokes saw him compare being in the Love Island villa to his time working in kennels, as he said:
