Chrissy Teigen and John Legend mourn the loss of their third child following a miscarriage

Earlier this week, Chrissy Teigen was rushed to the hospital following complications from her pregnancy. She was hospitalised for excessive bleeding. Teigen, who was sharing details from her pregnancy on social media since the couple announced they were expecting back in August, had already said that she had been on ‘serious bed rest’ for the past few weeks and that she had been bleeding constantly for a little less than a month. Earlier today, the unthinkable happened.

In a heartbreaking Twitter post, Teigen announced that she had suffered a miscarriage. She shared a black and white photo of herself in a hospital cap, sitting up on the side of her hospital bed, crying.

The couple had already named the baby Jack, which isn’t customary for them. Teigen wrote:

We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.

The grieving process will be long for the couple and their two children. Teigen and Legend have already received an outpouring of support from their community.
