Chadwick Boseman won Best Superhero for his role as T'Challa in the recent Black Panther movie. But he had a special message to share.

Chadwick chose to invite a real-life hero up on stage with him to share his award, saying 'Receiving an award for playing a superhero is amazing. But it's even greater to acknowledge the heros that we have in real life.'

He then called up James Shaw Jr. to the stage. Shaw has been dubbed the 'Waffle House hero' since his brave actions saved numerous lives when a gunman entered the Waffle House he was working in. The shooter killed four people with an assault rifle but Shaw managed to wrestle the gun off of him in order to prevent any more deaths.

Shaw has been incredibly modest about his brave action in the press, saying that he doesn't feel like a hero and just 'saw the opportunity and pretty much took it.'

Whatever he says, James Shaw Jr. is a true hero and it's great to see him recognised for his actions.
