30 celebrities you forgot were bald, from Demi Moore to Kate Hudson

 The Australian actress had to rid herself of her locks when starring in 2002's Heaven. But she has said that she used to have a ‘Victorian schoolboy haircut’ when she was in school and she liked to shave her head. 

One of the UK's finest football players, David Beckham is also known for his killer looks. His blonde hair had many swooning over the player, but in 2000 he decided to chop it all off. 

The Price Tag singer shaved her head to help raise money for a charity organization.

The Hollywood actress famously shaved her head to fit the rough role in 2005's V for Vendetta.

Hugh Jackman has been making waves with his new film Deadpool & Wolverine. Almost 10 years ago, he look completely different for his role as Captain Hook in Pan. He had to go bald to play the villain.

Maybe you had forgotten that Tom Cruise also went bald for a role several years ago. For sci-fi movie Minority Report, he had to shave off his hair. Following which he was seen sporting a buzz cut during events.

To fit her lead role in 1997's G.I Jane, Demi Moore had to shave her head. A surprising move for the actress who is known for her ultra long and luscious hair. In 2022, she revealed that she would never do anything to her hair again. She said: 

'I think now that I'm older, I also know, I don't have anything to prove. So if they really need my hair different, they can give me a wig.'

Moreoever, it seems the actress is holding on to her locks because she wants to prove that older women can have long hair to. The now 62-year-old said: 

'I remember hearing someone say that when women get older, they shouldn't have long hair. And something about that stuck with me.'

The young actress shaved her head for a role in Netflix's Nappily Ever After.

Marvel's Black Panther saw Gurira get rid of her long dreadlocks to play the role of Okoye, head of Wakanda's special force. While speaking on the Kelly & Ryan show, Gurira revealed that the dreadlocks people are used to seeing her with is actually a wig and she's always had rather short hair. However, she went bald specifically for the film. She admitted that at first she was ‘freaked out’ when she started shaving her head.

Unlike the actresses on this list, this Irish musician did not have to go bald for any movies. The reason why she decided to chop off her hair is rather heartbreaking. She said she did it because she ‘didn’t want to be pretty.'

‘It was dangerous to be pretty because I was getting raped and molested everywhere I went.’

She continued: 

'I was asked one day would I grow my hair long and wear short skirts because they wanted to sell me on my sexuality. I didn't want to be sold on that. If I was going to be successful, I wanted it to be because I was a good musician.'

In 2012, the Sex and the City star shaved her head to star in the Broadway play Wit. She was playing the role of a cancer-stricken professor. In real life, Nixon also suffered from cancer but she is now free of the disease. She said of her bald head:

"I thought it was kind of going to be no muss-no fuss, but I have to shave it every day!"

Matt Damon is always sporting the same hair, so when he went bald it definitely took people by surprise. He decided to shave off his hair for Elysium, a science-fiction action film. 

Jade Pinkett Smith's daughter Willow first shaved her head in 2012 and she said it was an act of ‘rebellion' and ‘maybe the most radical thing she’s done in the name of beauty.' She was only 11 years old at the time. 

James McAvoy is famously known for playing a young Charles Xavier aka Professor X for the X-Men movies. He had to get rid of his brown locks for the role. 

We're so used to seeing Kate with long blonde hair, but did you know that in 2017 she shaved it off?  She was in a drama film called Movie which was directed by Sia, which required her to get rid of her locks.
