31-year-old actress Alia Shawkat, known for her roles on Search Party, Transparent and Arrested Development, is said to have gotten quite close to iconic actor Brad Pitt. Tabloids have been speculating about whether the two have been in a relationship for the past few weeks after snaps surfaced of them spending time together on multiple occasions.

However, it was impossible to say with certainty that the two were in a relationship… that is, until Alia Shawkat finally decided to break the silence on the subject.

During an interview with Vulture, the actress decided to open up about all these rumours concerning the two of them and reveal the truth. And her response was simple: it's a no.

We're not dating... We just became friends, and Brad introduced me to his group of friends, and it grew from there.

Although she claimed not to be in a relationship with the American actor, Alia Shawkat still left room for doubt in our minds: could this just be a false lead? Who knows.
